It is the time of year when we write to you with great pleasure to tell you about the N-ECCO Activities planned for the ECCO’23 Congress, to be held in Copenhagen on March 1–4, 2023. As in previous years, the N-ECCO Committee has worked hard to put together a wide range of activities covering clinical, educational and research topics.

The Congress will start with the 14th N-ECCO School educational day. The programme for the School continues to be developed on the basis of feedback from attendees in previous years in order to meet the needs of nurses new to IBD. Thanks to everyone who has previously attended the School and provided feedback! Once again, the N-ECCO School will be open to all nurses and dietitians working in IBD. The N-ECCO School offers a great starting point for nurses less experienced in IBD and is an excellent platform for interacting with nurses from other European countries and beyond. The planned presentations will provide information on a variety of topics, including, for example, pathophysiology of the gastrointestinal tract, medical and surgical treatment options, adherence to medications and the different nurse roles in IBD management. Please note that applications for the N-ECCO School should be submitted to your N-ECCO Country Representative. The deadline for nominations was September 1, 2022, so if you have missed it please still contact your N-ECCO Country Representative.

At the N-ECCO Network Meeting, the main programme for IBD Nurses, we will cover the new developments in IBD, in both clinical practice and research. As in previous years, we have secured excellent speakers. If you would like to present the findings of your research, please submit an abstract. The call for ECCO’23 abstracts is currently open and the deadline for submission is November 21, 2022. The best four abstracts submitted will be selected for oral presentation at the N-ECCO Network Meeting and the other abstracts will be selected for poster presentation. The best poster will be awarded the prize of a free registration for the ECCO’24 Congress.

After two years of online Congress meetings, ECCO’23 will be face to face, providing great opportunities for networking with ‘old’ friends and establishing new links and collaborations. Make sure that you don’t miss this opportunity! Submit your abstract, book your ticket and come and join us and your colleagues from across Europe and beyond. We are waiting for you with a fantastic and thought-provoking programme. See you in Copenhagen!
