P622. Health care consumption and treatment of Crohn's disease in Stockholm County

Background

In a recently published study from Sweden the nationwide prevalence of IBD was estimated to be 0.65%

Methods

. The prevalence of Crohn's disease was calculated to 0.19%

Results

. The aim of the present study was to further investigate the health care consumption and treatment of Crohn's disease in the capital region of Stockholm.

Conclusion

Patients with a diagnosis of Crohn's disease, ICD10 codes K50X, with any contact with the health care system between 1 July 2010 and 31 December 2012 were identified through a search in the Stockholm County Council data warehouse VAL (Vårdanalys-databasen; Stockholm regional health care data warehouse). Data regarding outpatient visits in primary and specialist care, hospitalisations, prescribed medication as well as medications given at hospital were retrieved from the data warehouse.
