ECCO Abstract Awards

Abstract submitters may participate in the application process for the following awards:

Best investigator-initiated study (IIS) report submitted - IIS Abstract Award

Responsible Committee: Clinical Research Committee of ECCO (ClinCom)

The Clinical Research Committee of ECCO (ClinCom) wants to stimulate the development of high-quality investigator-initiated trials (IIT) in IBD and to improve the quality of IBD clinical trials in Europe through education. In 2015, an award will be given to the best congress abstract reporting on clinical trials set up by investigators (preferably multi-centre) submitted for the ECCO Congress and ClinCom Members will review all abstracts submitted for this category. Note: Studies conducted by industry will not be eligible for this award.

Prize: Free registration for the ECCO Congress 2016

Number of awards: 1

Who can apply: ECCO Members reporting on clinical trials set up by investigators in their abstracts. Note: ECCO Membership fee 2015 must be paid up until the abstract submission deadline (November 30, 2014, midnight, CET).

How to apply:

  • In case you are not an ECCO Member yet please register for ECCO Membership 2015
  • Log in to the ECCO'15 Abstract submission system
  • At the beginning of the submission process please indicate if your abstract is qualified for the IIS Abstract Award
  • Please pay careful attention to the general guidelines for abstract submission
  • Upload your abstract for the ECCO Congress 2015
  • Notification of the author before Christmas
  • Announcement in the ECCO'15 Final Programme and at the ECCO'15 Congress

Y-ECCO Abstract Award

Responsible Committee: Young-ECCO (Y-ECCO)

Prize: Free registration for the ECCO Congress 2016

Number of awards: 5

Who can apply: Y-ECCO Members (below 35 years of age or still in training). Note: ECCO Membership fee 2015 must be paid up until the abstract submission deadline (November 30, 2014, midnight, CET).

How to apply:

  • In case you are not an ECCO Member yet please register for ECCO Membership 2015
  • Log in to the ECCO'15 Abstract submission system
  • At the beginning of the submission process please indicate if your abstract is qualified for the Y-ECCO Abstract Award
  • Please pay careful attention to the general guidelines for abstract submission
  • Upload your abstract for the ECCO Congress 2015
  • Notification of the author before Christmas
  • Announcement in the ECCO'15 Final Programme and at the ECCO'15 Congress
